The city is big and the possibilities are endless. So where do go with your loved ones in hand when the fire is lit? Read our guide to Sankt Hans in Copenhagen below.
On June 23, it’s Sankt Hans once again, and this year the thought of standing in the smell of bonfires, singing unknown bonfire songs with a plastic mug in hand doesn’t seem that bad at all. It’s the night of all the things we have missed. Laugh, sing and put your arms around the shoulders of friends. And for that, you’ll need to know where to eat a good bite too. Read our guide for Sankt Hans in Copenhagen below:
TIVOLI
In Tivoli, Sankt Hans will be celebrated until late in the evening. The program is filled with activities for children and adults, and it ranges widely with several forms of dance and music. Many of the park restaurateurs have prepared a special Sankt Hans menu, including Gemyse, who ‘snobrød’ in the beautiful garden, and Påfuglen (The Peacock in English), who has white asparagus, hand-peeled shrimps and mousseline sauce as part of the menu. The fire will be lit 21. 30 to the sound of Drengekoret.
