Celebrate the biggest restaurant festival in the North: Dining Week
Tickets are already available for the big danish restaurant festival Dining Week, where more than 125 restaurants are giving it their all to serve a three-course menu at the same set price. In addition, a select few restaurants offer a special dinner of 10-servings.
A dining experience that welcomes everyone
In the year 2011, Danish restaurants were under heavy pressure. The aftermath of the financial crisis was still taking its toll on the economy. But from this sad situation, a new dining concept was born and has been a regular part of the restaurant business ever since. All participating restaurants would present a 3-course menu for the same set price no matter the restaurant, and guests could experience a unique array of gastronomic experiences for a week. The festival was set in week 7 – historically, the quietest week for restaurants. With 56 participating restaurants and 27.000 sold menus, Dining Week was a more considerable success than anyone would have dared to expect. In retrospect, the success of Dining Week seems pretty obvious – who wouldn’t want to enjoy a good dining experience at an affordable price?
More than 125 unique dinners
Today, restaurants are again still recovering from yet another crisis, and the concept of Dining Week seems as relevant as ever. The restaurants are ready to greet their guests with their three-course menus, and with the new variation where a selected few present a ten servings-variation, the festival has somehow managed to become even more exciting for any food lover lucky enough to find themselves in the country during week 42. A 10-serving dinner is 525 DKK, and any 3-course menu is 225 DKK.
Most 10-servings available in Copenhagen
A dining experience of 10 servings is, in our opinion, best inspected through taste buds, but for those residing in the capital, it’s worth mentioning that no less than six restaurants here offer the special 10-servings menu.
We have listed the 10-serving restaurants in Copenhagen here:
(Tip: you can select English in the website menu)
Radio on Vesterbro.
56° in the city center.
Kokkeriet in the city center.
Lille Norrlyst (sold out).
Aamanns Replik in Skuespilhuset (Nyhavn).
Aamanns 1921 in the city center.
Just the tip of the iceberg
No matter how you engage the rapidly approaching week 42, you will have to come to terms with missing out on a lot of good dining in the abundance of gastronomic experiences that the Dining Week festival has to offer. So stay vigilant, and identify the restaurants you want to try out early to secure seating where you want it the most. Then, visit The Dining Week Website, where you’ll find all restaurants and menus.
