Besides the good sushi, the restaurant also offers salads, ceviche, tartare and soups, all focusing on Japanese tradition and cooking style. Cafe Bankeråt
Café Bankeråt has been located in Nansensgade for more than 25 years, which doesn’t surprise anyone since the décor of the place is a good reason in itself to visit. Stuffed animals, mannequins, dark wood and red walls may sound like props from a horror movie, but in this case it sets the scene of an old Copenhagen favourite that makes people visit over and over again. The menu offers different types of cafe classics from all around the world. Examples are croque madame or monsieur and omelets but also modern protein bowls, tapas, chicken wings and burger.
Pizza La Fiorita
Pizza La Fiorita has existed since 1991 and is one of those places that does everything the way they have always done it. But why fix it if it’s not broke? Besides really good pizzas, the place sells pasta and specialties in true Italian style. Despite the fact that the place is decorated with a TV showing sports or Italian soap operas, Pizza La Fiorita is authentic in the absolute perfect way. If you want to enjoy your pizza outside, you should be quick to grab one of the small popular tables.
Kalaset
Kalaset means party in Swedish, but that is not the only thing going on in the basement café in the end of Nansensgade. Kalaset is a hip and beloved Copenhagen based café that serves homemade green and vegetarian dishes – and meat, if you’d like that. Salads, burgers, chickpea patties, pancakes, hummus, and curry are just some of the dishes from the menu. The café is a common meeting place for a broad audience of both old, young and locals, enjoying the informal mood in the narrow and colourful café. As the name implies, Kalaset isn’t any less popular when darkness falls and people start having cocktails and beers.
Bibendum
The wine bar Bibendum has existed since 2001 and offers shelves full of wine, which can be ordered by the bottle or the glass. Accompanying your wine, you can choose between a number of classic and elegant dishes. Examples are cod with cucumber, caviar, and beurre blanc, mushrooms with eggs and truffle, and lamb with onions, sweetbread, clams, and glasswort. Furthermore, the bar hosts wine tastings on a regular basis – and not just for those who know wine already. Bibendum is a perfect place for a night out with friends, family or your partner at the cozy spot with dark wooden tables. Lastly, the place claims to be the first wine bar that opened up in Copenhagen, and with the amount of competition in Copenhagen today, the age of the place is an accomplishment in itself.
